William Rall Elementary School honors our Veterans

2007-12-20 / Schools/Sports

Students at Lindenhurst's William Rall Elementary School went all out to honor veterans this year with a school-wide program including singing patriotic and original songs, interactive games and riddles, students interviewing veterans, and student presentation of cards and trophies to the veterans. Each grade did their unique welcome to the veterans.

The special program also featured a visit to the William Rall Mini-Veterans Museum including memorabilia from wars, genuine maps, flags, medals, photographs and publications. Stacy Bressi's class received a special lesson on World War two's Battle of the Bulge from one veteran. They learned that it was so cold that soldiers would sleep on the ground and their weapons would freeze.

Kindergarten Pledge: I make this promise to my land And to all of those who lend a hand To all the people that made our land free They have let America be the best it can be. We stand together, we will not come apart I make this pledge and cross my heart.

Shown in the photo, William Rall students perform in a special Veterans Day spectacular.
