Babylon resident receives Gold Award

The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award in Girl Scouting. This program challenges Senior Girl Scouts to excel in leadership, service and self-development. Suffolk County Legislator Wayne R. Horsley honored Theresa Shanley Stoecker as she received this prestigious award. She is a member of Service Unit #14 in Babylon.

She wrote and illustrated a children's activity book that teaches children about the water environment and how to preserve it. Many of Theresa's family members, friends and peers attended this Gold Award Ceremony.
