      Daniel H. "Dan" Dankenbrink, the owner of Dank, Inc., a tree care company based in Massapequa for more than 30 years, died suddenly September 3, 2007 at New Island Hospital in Bethpage. The longtime Amityville resident was 55 years old.

      Retired Suffolk County Police Lieutenant, and longtime Amityville Village resident Richard "Dick" W. Kenny died September 16, 2007 in Mahwah, New Jersey. He was 74 years old. He started his career in law enforcement with the Amityville Village Police Department and moved to the County shortly after that department was organized.
