The annual fall migration of hawks and raptors has begun along the southern Barrier Beaches of Long Island. The Fire Island Lighthouse provides a unique vantage point. You can actually look down on the birds as they pass the light. In addition to the great view, the lighthouse has historical displays and a gift shop. The fall hours are through mid December, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The tower fees are $6 for adults, $4 for children under 12 and seniors and $2 for members. For tower availability call 631-661-4876.
