Deer Park teacher gets published

Don Uhrie, a seventh grade language arts teacher at Robert Frost Middle School in Deer Park recently became a published author when his book, Whispers from Within, was printed and available for purchase through Publish America. Uhrie, who began teaching full-time two years ago after working for 22 years in the computer field, has been writing poetry as a hobby for the past 17 years. Many of his poems reflect his appreciation for nature, life and spirituality. He currently lives on the South Shore of Long Island.
