Legislator Wayne Horsley visited Santapogue Elementary School students in West Babylon to discuss the importance of reading. Horsley spoke with children in every classroom, distributed bookmarks, and encouraged them to read on a nightly basis. The visit was part of the school's Parents as Reading Partners (PARP) program. Honoring their contribution to the North Babylon community, Suffolk County Legislator Lou D'Amaro (D-North Babylon) recently presented five members of the North Babylon Volunteer Fire Company with proclamations in recognition of their 50 years of service to the company. D'Amaro's presentation was made at the fire company's annual Installation of Officers dinner to Ex-Presidents Aaron Jaffie and Anthony Spinelli, as well as Ex-Captains John Gardner, Adolf Kunze, and Gasper Randazzo. Also recognized for his dedicated service and tireless commitment to the community was outgoing Chief Joseph Elco.
