      Former Town of Babylon employee and dedicated mother of six, Dorothy Conlon Baxter died December 12, 2006 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip. She was 85. Born May 27, 1921 to Edward and Kathryn Conlon in Brooklyn, she grew up in Amityville Village and attended St. Martin's and Amityville High School.

      Longtime Babylon resident Doris Adele Thompson died peacefully December 24, 2006 in Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip. The Babylon resident, who lived on Pershing Avenue for 59 years, was 91 years old. Born in Queens, she later graduated from Brooklyn Law School and Adelphi University and went on to be an attorney and judge.
