Scholars in the NEWS Cari Kesten, of Dix Hills, a sophomore in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, was inducted in the Syracuse University chapter of Phi Eta Sigma Honorary Society. Kristin Mary Orlando, of East Islip, was named the the dean’s list for the fall semester at the State University of New York at Fredonia. The following local residents are completing their degrees in December: From Bay Shore are Odalys Ramos, broadcasting and mass communication and Shannon B. Seyda, zoology and from Brentwood is Jessica Bautista, secondary education, magna cum laude.
