St. Peter by-the-Sea Episcopal Day School receives visit from St. Nicholas
St. Nicholas visited St. Peter by-the-Sea Episcopal Day School in Bay Shore last week on his feast day. He is shown in the photo with his bag of gold coins ( gold color on the outside and milk chocolate on the inside) which he distributed to all the students in grades nursery through six and all the adult guests as well. It was the tradition of St. Nick to distribute his wealth to the poor while he was the Bishop of what is now present-day Turkey. Each year during the holiday season, this tradition is celebrated in the chapel with students, faculty, families and friends to share the blessings of giving.
