It's a tough Christmas this year for former holiday home decorating contest winner

Dear Editor:

This is an open letter to the good people of Amityville. Please accept my apologize for failing to put up a Christmas sisplay this year on my lawn. This goes out especially to those who in the past have knocked at my door and thanked us for doing it every year. I'm afraid that this year our hearts are just not into it.

Our nephew, who is an M.P. in the Marines, was shipped out to Iraq this year. I just want the parents who have thanked us over the years for doing it because their "My kids won't go to bed until I drive them past your house."

Yes we have had these knocks on the door with those words attached. We just can't bring this house up to speed this year.

Please explain to your children for us that sometimes situation change and thing change with those situations this does not mean that Santa is not there.

Santa is not in a light bulb or a tree,or a cartoon. Santa is in the hear of those who look out for those around them all year long. Thank God we have thousands of Santa's in the Armed Forces looking out for people around the world that can not protect themselves.

Let's All Pray that this nonsense ends soon for all of our children. God Bless and Merry Christmas to You and Yours
