Police seek public’s help in car-surfing incident

The Suffolk County Police Department is investigating an incident that occurred last night when a 20-year-old man was injured when he fell off of a car in West Babylon.

Harlan Beyer of Weeks Rd., North Babylon was standing on the hood of a passenger car on Guilford Park Drive, West Babylon when the driver of the vehicle began to move. Beyer fell off the car and struck his head on the pavement. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with injuries that are not considered to be lifethreatening. The vehicle left the scene prior to the arrival of emergency response personnel.

First Squad detectives are working to establish who was driving the car at the time of the incident. No further information is available at this time. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the First Squad at (631) 854-8152.
