Bellport seniors participate in community art show

Each year at the Bellport Community Center an art show sponsored by the South Bay Artist Association is held for high school seniors. Students wishing to participate must each send three pieces of original work, framed and wired for hanging. Four Babylon student artists took part in the exhibition. Teacher Cheryl Schweider has recommended that all be commended for their outstanding contributions.

Shown in Cheryl Schweider’s Studio 5 Art class are show participants, left to right, Caitlin Slaninka, Alex Walters, Kyle Gredder and Valerie Doescher. The two pieces pictured are acrylic paintings done by Caitlin. A special award and a $50 savings bond were presented to Valerie for her painting, titled The Train Station.
