Deer Park athletes honored by Town of Babylon
The Deer Park School District and the Town of Babylon recently paid tribute to past and present Deer Park athletic teams at a special recognition ceremony by unveiling a new sign honoring four varsity teams, dating back to as early as 1980. Former coaches, town and school district officials, former Deer Park student athletes and their families, and community members gathered together to commemorate this special occasion. The boy’s varsity golf team, boy’s varsity baseball team, Falconette kickline and boys varsity swimming and diving team are listed on the sign in recognition of their individual team achievements, which will be on permanent display in front of the district’s offices at 1881 Deer Park Avenue.
“This is a wonderful and very fitting way to pay tribute to the success of our athletes and their coaches who have given so much to the Deer Park community throughout the years,” said Deer Park School District Athletic Director Anthony Amesti, who hosted the event. “Congratulations to them for the examples of excellence they bring to our school and our community.”
