Local Scholars Make the The following North Babylon residents have received degrees from the College of Saint Rose, Albany, New York for the spring semester: Lukia Naraine received a certificate of advanced study and Theodora Drineas received a master of science in education. Named to the dean's list at The College of Saint Rose, Albany, New York for the spring semester are Jacquelyn Simms of Babylon and Lisa Bartenback and Kira Grunenberg of West Islip. The following local residents have reserved places as freshman at the State University of New York at Oswego for the fall semester: From Deer Park are Chris Clavin, Stephen M. Schwarz, Kevin Shannon and Andrew J. Woolsey, all 2006 graduates of Deer Park High School; from West Islip are Lauren R. Barth, Mark Gruber, Teresa M. Tinnirello and Patrick W. Wilson all 2006 graduates of West Islip High School and from Lindenhurst are Emily A. Constantinou, a 2006 graduate of Deer Park High School, Nicholas Lanzot and Keith R. Powell both 2006 graduates of Lindenhurst Senior High School and Richard Romeo a 2000 graduate of Lindenhurst Senior High School. Named to the dean's list at Marist College, Poughkeepsie for the spring semester are Ashley Mammola, Michael Samon and Keryn Schappert of Babylon and Marissa Guercio of North Babylon. Kathryn Hirsch, of Babylon Village, has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Loyola College, Baltimore, Maryland. In addition, she received the school's prestigious Gratias Award for Service and Leadership. Hirsch is currently in Bangkok, Thailand at Assumption University as part of Loyola's Semester Abroad Program. Hirsch was a a 2004 graduate of Babylon High School. She is the daughter of Robert and Frances Hirsch. Jason J. Lindley, of Babylon Village, has been named to the dean's list for the spring at the State University of New York at Geneseo. He is a sophomore majoring in physics/education. Lindley is a 2005 graduate of Babylon Junior/Senior High School and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lindley. The following local residents have graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute during the May commencement: Daniel Michael of Babylon, Raghav Sachdeev of Lindenhurst and Robert Dominic Brazier of Lindenhurst have all received bachelor of science degrees. Caitlin Brown, of North Babylon and a student at North Babylon Senior High School, received a scholarship for Leaders from Wells College, Aurora, New York. Wells college presents 21st Century Leadership Awards to high school juniors who demonstrate outstanding leadership ability in high school and community activities. Recipients are nominated by their school's college counselor or principal.
Jacqueline Burke, of Babylon, a senior majoring in magazine journalism and Danielle Rodrigues, of North Babylon, a senior majoring in public relations, have been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at Syracuse University S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
