Christmas at the Conklin House begins Friday

On Friday, December 1, 6 to 9 p.m., Babylon Village's historic Conklin House will once again be decorated in all her glory to celebrate the holiday season. For those who are unable to attend on Friday, buildings will be open Saturday, December 2 and Sunday, December 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. Admission is free, and the welcome cordial. Take the opportunity to greet friends and neighbors in a true holiday atmosphere.

The event is held in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce "night of old-fashioned shopping," making it a great night to be out on the town.

The Conklin House will be decorated throughout as several village groups prepare the Federal room, the Victorian parlor, the general store and the kitchen. In addition, the barn will be open and decorated and refreshments will be available in the tent. The committee promises that the night will evoke the spirit of Christmas past.

Winners of the annual Holiday cookie Contest, to be held on Thursday, November 30 will be announced during the open house. The panel of judges, all experienced cookie tasters, has been selected from Village residents. The cookies, both winners and losers, will be served to those attending the open house.
