Elementary students gather at Lindenhurst High School

Shown in the photo are High School senior Gina Donato and first grader Sarah Valvo at Lindenhurst High School's Safe Halloween celebration.
On Halloween, elementary children throughout the district gathered at Lindenhurst High School, dressed as witches, princesses, and superheroes, for the school's 16th Annual Safe Halloween Celebration. Safe Halloween, organized each year by the high school's Student Council, provides a safe and fun environment for younger children to collect candy. While navigating the dark hallways, high school students provide many treats, as well as a few tricks, for the younger students.

Various clubs set up "haunting" displays, from the spooky graveyard sponsored by the Varsity Club, to the "reptile room" provided by the Science Research Club. Safe Halloween was not only fun for the younger children, but a great experience for the high school students, as well. High School Student Council President Ben Urso and Vice President JoAnne Palmieri stated, "Safe Halloween is a spectacular event that the high school students love to put together. We spend a great deal of time with the hallways and classrooms. We also feel great joy in giving back to the youngsters of our community."
