Students at William Rall Elementary help to end hunger

Toward the end of last school year, students at William Rall Elementary School in Lindenhurst took part in the Island Harvest's 2006 Hunger Awareness/Coin Harvest Program. Together, the students raised $1,486 which will be used to assist in reducing food waste and ending hunger on Long Island.

The program was led by the school's compact committee and student council. Over the course of two weeks, student council members collected spare change from their fellow students to reach their fundraising goal.

Rall teachers and campaign chairs Christopher Connell and Stacey Bressi stated, "We are so proud of the students and teachers who put their effort into making this campaign a great success."
