Madeline Atiles, longtime Bay Shore resident & chef

Madeline R. Atiles, who lived on North Gardiner Drive in Bay Shore for 30 years, died October 21, 2006.She was 71 years old. For many years she had worked as a chef in local nursing homes.

Mrs. Atiles leaves behind her children: Eugene R. Lyons, Sr., Keith A. and Ramona F.; her devoted life partner, Nancy Bifolco; her grandchildren: Eugene R. Lyons, Jr., Stacey Borgos, Peter A. Lyons, Simone S. Payne, Rose Nicole, Christine V. and Austin S.; her great grandchildren: Alexandra, Xavier, Brandon, Alexis, Isabella, Liliana, Angela and Antonio; as well as other loved ones and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Antonio and her sister, Cynthia.

Mrs. Atiles reposed at the Michael J. Grant Funeral Home, 571 Suffolk Ave., Brentwood, on October 25, 2006. Religious services were held at the funeral home on October 25 and 26, 2006 followed interment in Pinelawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Atiles donated her organs and gave a kidney to one of her great granddaughters, according to her family.
