Halloween arrests in Deer Park

arrested four teenagers who robbed a 14-yearold boy at gunpoint on Halloween night. They pointed BB guns at the boy's head and demanded he surrender his backpack, which w a s w a s found to contain eggs. eggs.

T h e 14-yearold Deer Park resident and several other youths may have been involved in throwing eggs at residences and individuals in the area of Woodlawn Avenue and Old Country Road in Deer Park. The teens approached the 14-year-old with the guns, forcing him to give up his backpack. He and his friends then fled on foot.

The youths described their assailants and police arrested Duane Myles, 17, of 160 N .

2 0 t h St., Wheatley Heights; Leon Swaby, 17, of Waterford Drive, Wheatley Heights; Anthony Jemison, 17, of 160 N. 20th St. Wheatley Heights; and Joe Garcia- Diaz, 16, of 203 Walker St., North Babylon. Arresting officers Christopher officers Christopher Calvacca of the First Precinct COPE unit and Patrol Officer Matthew Colonna also recovered two BB guns and a switchblade knife from the teenagers.

All four teens were charged with Robbery 1st Degree and were arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip on November 1.
