Temple Sinai Healthcare Proxy program to be held Nov. 12

On Sunday, November 12, 9 to 11:45 a.m., Temple Sinai of Massapequa will be hosting a program dealing with healthcare decision making and advanced medical directives as part of the Metro New York Caring Coalition Healthcare Proxy Weekend.

The purpose of this program is to begin the conversation on making important healthcare decisions and letting our loved ones know what type of life-sustaining measures we would want if we had an incurable illnesswithout expectation of recovery. Now is the time for you to decide the healthcare you would want. Don't leave the decisions to family members. Come learn what Judaism

and New York State says about advanced medical directives, living wills and healthcare proxy.

The program is sponsored by: F.E.G.S. Health and Human Services System's Partners in Dignity Program, the LI Regional Care Center and The New York Legal Assistance Group's Total Life Choice Project. These projects are initiatives of the UJA-Federal of NY's Jewish Healing and Hospice Alliance.

Temple Sinai is located at 270 Clocks Blvd., Massapequa, south of Merrick Road. For further information call: Lori Hardoon, 516-496- 7550, extension 242. Refreshments will be served 9 to 9:15 a.m.
