Holiday party to be held December 9 On Saturday, December 9, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.Sophia Garden and Learning Center will present its second annual A Holiday Happening - Holiday Purchases with a Purpose at the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Saint Dominic, 555 Albany Ave., Amityville. The event will benefit the Sophia Garden & Learning Center CSA (Community Sustained Agriculture) project and educational programs at the Learning Center. A Holiday Happening - Holiday Purchases with a Purpose will provide an alternative to the commercial, harried experience of contemporary holiday shopping. With special vendors who care about people and the earth, shoppers can choose from a wide variety of fine gifts for all ages, knowing that their purchases have a purpose supporting Sophia Garden and Learning Center, as well as the earth and people-centered projects. There is ample parking on the side of the building. Shoppers can enjoy refreshments, make new friends, have fun, and feel good about their holiday purchases!
