Lindenhurst Firefighters respond to boat blaze
On May 9, the Lindenhurst Fire Department responded to South 9 Street after receiving a report about a boat fire that erupted next to a home. Upon arrival, the Chief had heavy fire with two boats burning and shortly thereafter an explosion, possibly from a 20-pound gas tank on board one of the boats, erupted. Two houses nearby were damaged. Firefighters using water and foam took about an hour working to brink the blaze under control.
