Life in a Small Village called Babylon, New York
by Jonathan Amdur

Imagine a humble town about an hour from New York City. There are shops, tennis courst, schools and a beautiful lake in the middle of town. Well, that is what my family sees every day where I live. I live in a small village called Babylon.

I think Babylon is one of the best villages on Long Island. It is probably one of the best places around for kids. In Babylon you can either socialize or just sit at home and relax.

The places where people hang out are very nice. Families take their kids to the three parks in town, where I have made a lot of friends.

When older kids get together with friends they go for pizza in town. Most people go to Mulberry Street, which is a pizza parlor. People say it has some of the best pizza they have ever eaten. Frankly, I agree with them. I love it.

After pizza, people like to get something sweet to eat. So where do they go? Either to Sweet Sensation next door to Mulberry Street Pizza or Sweet Street down the street. They have candy and ice cream and the service is good. Everyone is nice there.

In town, there is a lacrosse store called Lacrosse Unlimited. Babylon is really big on lacrosse. I don't personally like lacrosse, but it makes my Village special.

If you live in Babylon, you are two minutes from the bay. Basically everyone lives on the water. People go fishing, boating and swimming whenever they want. During the fall there are tons of fairs. Almost everyone goes to the fairs. They are lots of fun too.

There is only one bad thing about Babylon: You never really meet anyone new. Usually you know everyone in about a year. Babylon is small, but big enough for everyone to be comfortable.
