Babylon Masonic Lodge holds Mother's Day religious service at Berkshire Nursing Center

Members of Babylon Masonic Lodge and their wives held a special Mother's Day religious service followed by games and a sing along. Rev. Juanita Duryea Hilsenbeck who grew up in Babylon and has volunteered 37 years conducted the service. The oldest mother, Julia Romano, received a piece of jewelry from Peter Krutys and a small purse. Nora Hawkins celebrated her 100th birthday, and received a corsage (pinned on by Rev. Juanita), rose plant and jewelry. Hawkins had the most children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She has served as the president of the resident council. All mothers received gifts from the group and large print Guidepost magazines. In June they will honor all fathers with special gifts and a program. Volunteers are always needed. Call Roberta Young at 631-587-0600 for more information on volunteering. The Masons have come for many years to bring joy to the residents.
