Jennifer K. Specht, daughter of Kurt and Christine Krause, of North Babylon, received a bachelor's degree in music education, during the 114th commencement exercises at Gordon College this past May. Specht is a 2002 graduate of North Babylon High School. While at Gordon College, she focused her major on voice and was the Assistant Conductor of College Choir and Chamber Choir. She was also a Presser Scholar and taught music in Kenya during the summer of 2005. Specht was also the Collegiate Ambassador for the Massachusetts Music Educators Association. She is student teaching this fall and then looking for a full-time teaching position as a music educator. She would like to one day incorporate her passion for cross-cultural ministry with her music.
