Dorothy Stover of Amityville and West Babylon
Dorothy Marie Stover, a 12-year resident of Berkshire Nursing Home in West Babylon, died September 12, 2006. She was 99 years old.
Born May 26, 1907 to Frederick and Marie (Hartlev) Keele, she was later employed by Continental Life Insurance as Comptroller until her retirement. Mrs. Stover raised her family in Valley Stream and she was superintendent of the Valley Stream Methodist Church Sunday school while her children were growing up. She later lived in Amityville before moving to West Babylon.
"She lived a wonderful, long life and we'll miss her," said her daughter, Joanne.
Mrs. Stover leaves behind her daughter, Joanne Milstein and her husband Stanley of Amityville; her daughter-in-law, Gabrielle of Downingtown, Pennsylvania; her grandchil-
dren: Timothy James of Yardley, Pennsylvania, G. Michael of Downingtown, Pennsylvania and Douglas Lucian Milstein of Amityville. Her great grandchildren, Samantha, P.J., Erika, Emily, Noah, Gabe and Abigayle, as well as other loved ones and friends also survive her.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lucian and her son, Dr. James F.
The Rev. Dr. Louise Stowe-Johns, pastor of the First United Church of Amityville, officiated at the funeral service at Powell Funeral Home, 65 Broadway, Amityville, on September 15, 2006, followed by interment in Cypress Hills Cemetery, Brooklyn. She was eulogized by her grandson, Timothy.
