W. Babylon teacher promoted to district coordinator
Charles Germano Former Dean of Students and science teacher at the West Babylon Junior High School, Charles Germano was recently promoted to the district's coordinator of k-12 student data and Iinstructional technology position. In this position he will develop and implement a comprehensive staff development program related to technology in the classroom and the use of student data to inform instruction. Germano will be reviewing, evaluating and recommending the selection and acquisition of the district's software, in addition to maintaining the district's website.
Germano has worked within the West Babylon School District since 1998 and has served as a fourth grade teacher at John F. Kennedy Elementary School, a kindergarten teacher at Santapogue Elementary School, and as principal for the Santapogue Elementary School summer program. He received his bachelor of arts in natural science/biology, his masters of science in elementary education, and his professional diploma in educational administration all from Dowling College in Oakdale. He is also serving as coach of the boys varsity tennis team.
