Once again, the Amityville Rotary Club is hosting its annual Apple Festival. This year's event is Saturday, October 7, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine, on the grounds of the First United Methodist Church, 25 Broadway, Amityville, just north of Merrick Road.

Apples can be purchased by the bag the day of the festival. Advance order, by the case, can be made by calling Linda Batz at 631-264-0300 or Wes Powell at 631-691-0172. You can choose from Macintosh, Macoons and Grannie Smiths. The cost will be available when you place your order.

In addition, on the day of the event, the Rotary Club will be selling apple pies, apple cider and other treats. There will be arts and crafts, face painting and music. Vendors will offer Long Island autumn fruits and vegetables for sale and there will be entertainment and music.
