Suffolk County Legislator Steven Stern (D-Huntington, 16th LD) recently welcomed community leaders to his new district office, located at 1842 E. Jericho Tpke. in the "Dix Hills Super Center". Legislator Stern was joined by Congressman Steve Israel; Eugene McParland, president of the Parkdale Civic Association; Huntington Town Supervisor Frank Petrone; Brook Ellison, New York State Senate candidate for the 2nd District; Walter Rabe, copresident of the Elwood Taxpayers Association and president of the Greenlawn Civic Association; Thomas Brandon, deputy inspector for the 2nd Precinct; Mary Jane Mackey, president of the Elwood Taxpayers Association; Captain Blosser of the 2nd Precinct, Irene Blaymore, president of the New Imperial Gardens Civic Association, as well as his

staff members Deborah Harris and Claire Fratello who were all there to celebrate the opening of the new office. This is the first time in over 20 years that the District office is in a new location. It was formerly located next to Fred's Restaurant at 1742 E. Jericho Tpke.

"One of the most important reasons for moving to a new location was that the former office was not compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. As an attorney who has dedicated my career to representing seniors and the disabled, that was unacceptable", said Stern. "There is no way we would have been able to welcome the most vulnerable to our office. I knew we had to relocate."

The office is in a new location, but Legislator Stern's phone number remains the 631- 854-5100.
