Volunteers needed to assistannual Check-Out Hunger Campaign from October 1 through January 1

Long Island Cares, Inc. The Harry Chapin Food Bank is looking for volunteers to assist with its 14th Annual Check-Out Hunger Campaign from October 1 2006 through January 1, 2007. Check-Out Hunger is a unique partnership between Long Island Cares, area supermarkets, shoppers and volunteers.

Volunteers are needed to set up and maintain CheckOut Hunger Supplies at stores in their own local area. Participating supermarkets include: King Kullen, ShopRite, Pathmark, Wild by Nature, Waldbaums, Food Emporium, Food Town and Kings. Help is needed in Hicksville, Levittown, New Hyde Park, Manhasset, Mineola, Farmingdale, Massapequa, Albertson, Glen nually including 93,000 children.

Sign-up begins right. Set up begins October 1 and requires approximately one half hour per week. For information call Tina at 631-582-FOOD(3663) extension 105.
