Police seek public's help in nabbing Lindenhurst bank robber
Detectives from the Suffolk County Police Department's Major Case Investigations Unit are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at the Bank of New York, 945 North Wellwood Ave., North Lindenhurst on August 10, 2006.
At 9:50 a.m., a male approached a teller and displayed a note demanding cash. The teller complied and gave the robber the cash from her drawer. The robber fled the bank and was last seen on foot in a southbound direction on Wellwood Ave.
The robber is described as a white male in his early twenties, 5'8" to 5'9" , with a thin build and short brown hair. The robber was wearing clear lens glasses, a navy blue tee shirt with a police type emblem, blue jeans, and sneakers.
