The Eagle Scout Award is the highest award a Boy Scout can receive. Although many scouts begin the difficult journey, leading to this award, only a small percentage actually achieve this goal.
The prestigious Eagle Scout Award was recently presented to Matthew Prete of Lindenhurst. Participating in Prete's Eagle Court of Honor ceremony were his family, friends and fellow scouts from Troop 398.
Suffolk County Legislator Wayne R. Horsley presented Prete with a proclamation to acknowledge this momentous occasion.
The newest Eagle Scout in Boy Scout Troop 60 is Steven Brumberg of Lindenhurst. Brumberg demonstrated strong leadership and other qualities in Scouting, and has been involved in school and community activities. The Eagle Scout is the highest recognition that can be achieved in Boy Scouts.
Shown at the ceremony, left to right, are Lindenhurst Village Trustee Mike Lavorata, VFW Post 7279 commander Ed Mattina, father Mitchell Brumberg, Eagle Scout Steven Brumberg, mother Jeanne Brumberg, Assemblyman Bob Sweeney and Lindenhurst Mayor Tom Brennan.
