Babylon math students in top ten county wide

2006-07-27 / People/Social

The best math students from Suffolk County school districts participate in the prestigious Suffolk County Mathematics Teachers' Association (SCMTA) Math Contest each year. According to Babylon Village School District's Math Director, Daniel Drance, it's particularly significant that Babylon, one of the smallest districts, did so well. Honored for their outstanding abilities are (Babylon Memorial Grade School) Danny McHugh, Adam Marrone, Ian Stewart, (Babylon Junior-Senior High School) Charles Helling, Nick Shao, Sal Albanese, Brianna Watt, Jonathan Buonaspina and Benjamin Gumbardo. SCMTA works to advance the methods of teaching mathematics, fosters an interest in math, and promotes a better understanding of the subjects in math.
