Police seek public's help in tracking down would-be adbuctor of 11 yr. old Deer Park girl
Suffolk County Police First Squad Detectives are investigating the attempted abduction of an 11 year old child which occurred in Deer Park on Wednesday afternoon.
At about 12:04 p.m. on July 19, 2006, an eleven year old female had just gotten off of a school bus in the area of Washington Avenue and Hickory Street in Deer Park when she noticed a silver-colored two-door vehicle coming towards her in reverse. The male driver approached her, with all of the windows open and came across to the front passenger seat and attempted to grab her arm and pull her into the vehicle. She broke free and ran across the street to a neighbor and eventually to her home on Washington Avenue.
The subject is described as a black male, about 35 years old, dark-skinned, with a muscular build, short hair, a mustache and has "bumps" on his face. The vehicle, unknown make and model, is described as a two-door sedan, silver in color, with a spoiler on the back deck.
The First Squad Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this subject or the vehicle to call them at 631-854-8152 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
