Laurie J. Bloom of Rivkin Radler named among Long Island's 50 Most Influential Women

Laurie J. Bloom, of Brightwaters, director of marketing and communications at Rivkin Radler LLP, has been named among Long Island's 50 Most Influential Women by the Long Island Business News. Launched in 2000, the Top 50 Program honors the Island's top professional women for their exceptional accomplishments, business acumen, mentoring and charitable and community involvement. The honorees represent the most influential women in business, government, education and not for profit fields.

Bloom's work has been recognized as being among the best. She received the ExecuLeaders' Award for Marketing Leadership in 2006 and was named by Long Island Business News as a Marketing Achiever in 2005. Molloy College named her a Long Island Woman Businessperson of the Month in 2003, and was among those honored by the Business & Professional Women Association at their Celebration of Working Women. In 2002, she was inducted into Long Island Business News' 40 Under 40 Class and named Top In-House Marketing Executive by the Long Island Ad Club and Long Island Business News. Bloom was also selected by Smithtown High School students for inclusion in their Classroom to Boardroom project.

A frequent presenter, Bloom has served as a keynote speaker at Hofstra University's induction of Alpha Pi Eta Honor Society members, and has addressed both college and high school students on careers in communications, as well as numerous business and trade groups on topics relating to marketing, communications and public relations. She has authored two travel articles for New York Lawyer Magazine and created Partner With Your Profession, a booklet for the New York County Lawyers' Association, and authored guides for home buyers and sellers while employed by the Long Island Board of Realtors and Multiple Listing Service of LI.

Bloom was recently elected first vice president of Hofstra University's Executive Alumni Council where she serves as chair of its Products and Services Committee. She has also been accepted to serve as an Assistant Adjunct Professor at Hofstra University's School of Communication.

Bloom is an executive board member of Pet Peeves, Inc., "the voice for Long Island pets," and is chair of the nonprofit's Public Relations Committee. She is a member of the Advisory Counsel of Nassau/Suffolk Law Services and chairs its Public Relations and Education Committee. Bloom is also a past president of Public Relations Professionals of Long Island, and has served as a board member of the International Association of Business Communicators' Long Island Chapter.
