West Islip High School student Richard DeFrancisco was honored on May 17th as an Outstanding Senior Science Student at the Awards Dinner of the Suffolk Section of STANYS (Science Teachers Association of New York State). He was chosen by the Science Department and Principal Ken Hartill. According to teacher Robert Purdy, who served as his mentor, Richard was selected based on his science achievements through his high school career.
