Pictured is Amy Dinoff, a fourth grader from the John F. Kennedy Intermediate School, Deer Park who donated more than ten inches of her hair Locks of Love, a Fort Worth, Florida-based organization that makes hair pieces for financially disadvantaged children who suffer from long-term hair loss due to cancer, alopecia or severe burns. “I felt excited and a little nervous as they put my hair into two ponytails and began to snip away, but knew I would be helping other children,” said Amy. She hopes that her donation will help restore some self-esteem and confidence to the recipient of her heartfelt gift.
