Mr. Hertell is predeceased by his parents Arthur and Crystal. Survivors include his children Adam and Conor; his sister Brenda Wectawski and her husband Adam; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends.

Memorial visitation was held at the Claude R. Boyd-Caratozzolo Funeral Home, 1785 Deer Park Ave., Deer Park.

An obituary notice for Charles J. Cowan, which appeared in the February 15, 2006 edition of the Beacon did not list the names of his children as survivors. They are Meredith and Jacqueline Cowan. We apologize for the error.
