Baptist to be honored

St. John the Baptist Diocesan High will induct Fr. James Vlaun, president and CEO of Telecare, Inc., into its Hall of Fame at a gala dinner to be held at Capt. Bill’s in Bay Shore on Saturday, April 1.

Fr. Jim, as he is best known, is a 1979 graduate of St. John the Baptist and served as chaplain at his

alma mater for 12 years.

He also has been an associate pastor in the parishes of St. Mary’s in East Islip, St. Anthony’s in Rocky Point, and Our Lady of Lourdes in West Islip. A noted author, radio personality, and host of his own TV show, Fr. Jim is on the faculty of New York Institute of Technology and is a board member on numerous charitable organizations on Long Island.
