Lindenhurst HS DECA Club wins big at regional competition

Members of Lindenhurst High School’s DECA Club recently took part in the regional Suffolk County DECA Competition. Forty-two DECA members from Lindenhurst attended the competition to compete in a variety of areas, including Decision Making, Business and Marketing Law, Billboard Design, and Marketing Math.

The following 15 students received trophies in the competition and are eligible to compete at the state level in March: Jennifer Larson (Decision Making Human Resources), Jason Wachtler (Decision Making-Marketing), Sameer Sahrudayan (Sales Demonstration), Jemibayo Agunloye (Business and Marketing Law), Kimberly Kelly (Broadcast Advertising), Brock Pisciotta (Visual Advertising), Devon DeLucia (Marketing Management), Susan Petersen (Quick Serve Restaurant), Jason Walters (Vehicle and Petroleum Marketing), Kaitlin Stocker (Apparel and Accessories Marketing), Jessica Kengle (Food Marketing Management), Lindsay Lord (Retail Merchandising), Saritha Surendran (Marketing), Joe O’Connor (Marketing Math), and Rich Torres (Marketing Math).

The following nine students who received honorable mention at the competition: Victoria Woods (Job Interview), Parth Jhaveri (Public Service Visual Advertising), Tania Fuentes (Business Law and Ethics Management), Diana Reyes (Business Law and Ethics Management), Kaitlin Kelly (Sports and Entertainment Marketing), Michelle Rush (Sports and Entertainment Marketing), Harsh Jhaveri (Telemarketing), Darleen Miller (Business Law and Ethics), and John Lappas (Business Law and Ethics).
