Donald J. Manning, of North Babylon, died January 6, 2006.

Mr. Manning was a former chief of the North Babylon Fire Department and retired executive director of the Suffolk County Fire Academy.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy; his children Terrence, Stacy and Michael and grandchildren Sean, Suzanne, Patrick, Blayne and Chandler Manning; Riley and Carson Perry. Also surviving are his daughters-in-law Cheryl and Maureen. His son Patrick predeceased him.

Firematic services were said Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at the Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 West Main St., Babylon Village. A funeral mass was said Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, Babylon. Interment was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
