Daniel Francis Patrick Leahy, 68, former West Islip resident
Daniel Francis Patrick Leahy, 68, a former resident of West Islip, died September 7, 2005 after a long struggle with cancer.
Mr. Leahy was in the Babylon High School Class of 1955 and had recently attended his 50th reunion with old friends on May 28th. Born in Brooklyn, he moved to West Islip as a teenager, and until his death resided in Rifton, New York for many years. He was a retired New York City Union Carpenter.
Mr. Leahy is survived by his devoted and loving wife Sue, his daughter Kelly J. Leahy and his son Timothy J. Leahy. Mr. Leahy was also survived by his faithful canine companion Bella and predeceased by his even more faithful canine companion Gretel.
Mr. Leahy was a member of REO Club of Amer-ica, Mid Hudson Antique Truck Association, West Esopus Landowners Association & Klyne-Esopus Museum. The family suggests that friends, make a donation in Mr. Leahy’s name to the charity of their choice.
