A Poem Without Words was the theme of the November 2 luncheon of the Sumpwams Garden Club. The celebration marked the 49th annual luncheon and boutique of the club. It was held at Captain Bills. The guest speaker was Mary Donna Kappel, owner of Tuesday & Co. Floral Design in Oyster Bay. Chairpersons for the affair were Maxine Krantz and Jean Leun.

The guest speaker for the November 14 meeting was Anthony X. Millet of River Orchids, an orchid hobbyist and hybridizer. Members brought orchids and questions to be meeting and there were orchids to be purchased.
