Fire volunteers were there

Dear Editor:

The Babylon Village Fire Department has done a fantastic job in helping the residents get through the high water issues and oil burner problems.

I had been seeing the fire trucks pass periodically going to other calls never once thinking that they would be coming to our house less than 12 hours later.

When our carbon monoxide (silent killer) detector was beeping in the basement, we immediately sought ventilation and called the Fire Department. I was relieved that the Fire Department arrived so quickly and took control of the situation.

It is so nice to see that while the volunteers had their own issues, they were out helping others in their time of need.
