2005-11-24 / Front Page
Students at Santapogue Elementary School in West Babylon have been doing all that they can for the victims of hurricane Katrina. In one coin drive, students raised a grand total of over $2,000 to be donated to the American Red Cross. One student alone raised $950 in addition to donating coloring books and pencils for the children affected by Karina. The school’s second coin drive is a national initiative titled Coins From Kids. This drive is a collaborative relief effort among schools, Commerce Bank and Future Tech Enterprise, Inc which will be donated to the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund - a joint relief effort led by former presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton.
