Teen theatre awards town of Babylon High School
The Babylon Citizens Council on The Arts (BaCCA) is presenting the Teen Theatre Awards for the 2005-2006 school year. BaCCA has established a committee consisting of people from the theatre community and its Board of Trustees who will be attending school theatre productions during the entire year. The committee members will be attending performances at participating high schools within the Town of Babylon. Ten high schools are involved this year: Amityville, Babylon, Copiague, Deer Park, Half Hollow Hills, Lindenhurst, North Babylon, St. John The Baptist, West Babylon and Wyandanch. At the end of the year BaCCA will be hosting a theatre evening presenting awards to the students selected in various categories for outstanding performances. The Babylon Arts Council envisions that this program will encourage students to pursue their involvement in theatre and will increase their visibility as the participants are honored in the spring. BaCCA is also seeking members of the community who would like to attend any of the performances and offer comments and evaluations of the productions that you see.
Please call BaCCA Cultural Center if you would like a list of production dates and more information about the awards format. The more the community is involved with the theatre program, the more meaningful these awards will be to our students. Call or visit BaCCA at 631-587-3696, 47 West Main St., Babylon, NY 11702.
