Child care worker Anasih C. Williams of Amityville died after a short illness on September 16, 2005 at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore. She was 38 years old.

Also known affectionately as Cassandra, Sand and Sandy, Ms. Williams was born in Hempstead and finished school in Oneonta, New York. Upon her return to Hempstead, she worked in child care for St. Christopher Ottilie in Glen Head. She relocated to Amityville in the late 1990s, with her son Javan.

Ms. Williams leaves behind her son; her siblings: Bobby, Mariah Lowery, Betty Russell, Marion; her sister-in-law Zelda; her aunts and uncles Wilma Moffett, Kefers and Terry Ellis, Pearl Harry; lifelong friends Charyl and Reginald, Anna and Andre Christa; five nieces, four nephews and a host of cousins, relatives and friends. Her parents, Eugene and Delcinia and her brother Reginald predeceased her.

Ms. Williams reposed at the Powell Funeral Home in Amityville. Elder Roscoe C. Claiborne conducted a service at the home on September 21, 2005 followed by internment in Amityville Cemetery.
