Town of Babylon Supervisor Steven Bellone, New York State Senator Owen Johnson and New York State Assemblyman Bob Sweeney joined with Sylvia Brooks and Richard Brooks Jr. to dedicate and christen the newest town vessel, which is named after the fallen Bay Constable Richard L. Brooks. Due to the efforts of Senator Johnson and Assemblyman Sweeney in securing funds for a new boat and motor, the Town of Babylon was honored to name the vessel in Brooks memory. Constable Brooks, a man who dedicated his life to serving others, was killed last summer by a lone gunman, while on routine patrol.
