Community volunteer Frank Gargano and Rabbi Yaakov Saacks of the Dix Hills Chai Center are joined by local veterans, firemen, retired police officers and community volunteers at a recent announcement of plans to raise the level of awareness regarding public safety for Jewish houses of worship during the upcoming high holy days.

Coordinated by Mr. Gargano, these volunteer groups plan to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity that may take place during the high holy days of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur.
