South Oaks Hospital supports Clubhouse Mental Illness Day

South Oaks Hospital recently made a generous $1,000 donation to help support Clubhouse of Suffolk’s 12th Annual Long Island Mental Illness Awareness Day to be held on October 14, at the Huntington Townhouse in Huntington Station. Sol Wachtler, the retired Chief Judge of New York’s highest court, the highly acclaimed Second Step Players theater troupe, and Dr. William Anthony, a professor of rehabilitation counseling at Boston University, will be among the guests at the all-day conference, which features workshops on cutting edge mental health issues and a behavioral health trade show.

Clubhouse of Suffolk Inc. is a highly respected not-for-profit psychiatric rehabilitation agency founded in 1990 by families of the Alliance for the Mentally Ill (AMI). Clubhouse currently serves approximately 1,200 people out of their main office in Ronkonkoma, and their satellite facility, the Synergy Center, in Riverhead.
